Job Description:


Based in Grand Prairie, Texas, Action Logistics employs over 700 associates
that are skilled in 3rd party logistics services. Since the company was
founded, Action Logistics has expanded to other areas of Texas, Missouri,
Mississippi, Tennessee, Oregon, Illinois, Florida, Ohio, Georgia, Oklahoma,
Alabama, Pennsylvania and New Jersey. Action Logistics provides specialized
labor services and support to a number of fortune 500 companies throughout the
United States. Our company handles a vast array of materials ranging from
retail goods and groceries to computer components and tires. Currently the
company operates in 26 locations.

Position Summary:

The Operations Manager reports to the Site Manager

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:


·         Responsible for attending and documenting all pre-shift meetings or delegating person to do so.

·         Responsible for following up on discussion points brought up by associates in pre-shift meetings and during day to day activities with General Manager and communicating  answers back to the associates.

·         Responsible for communicating with Customer and other Action Logistics personnel using appropriate communication technique. I.E. email, phone or in person 

·         Responsible for promoting and enforcing Action Logistics Safety Policy at all times.

·         Responsible for overseeing dock area and ensuring those operations personnel are at their assigned work station and performing tasks per specified procedure.

·         May be responsible for auditing associates on a daily basis.

·         Must be proficient in company billing and payroll database data entry.

·         Responsible for ensuring that dock area remains orderly and safe.

·         Responsible for ensuring that product is loaded or unloaded on trailers according to the policies and procedures of the location.

·         Must identify issues in the day to day operation and use coaching and if necessary discipline to correct associate behavior to promote an environment of continuous improvement.

·         Must understand the Action Logistics Quality Management System and its management techniques.

·         Responsible for ensuring that associates have the resources necessary to perform their job duties both safely and efficiently.

·         Responsible for effectively communicating with customer and strengthening the customer relationship.

·         Responsible for overseeing the onboarding process of new hires and ensuring they are properly trained.

·         Accountable for enforcing company policies and procedures which includes taking disciplinary action when appropriate.

·         May be responsible for creating and adjusting manpower scheduling as needed.

Background / Experience

·         Must have 2 years experience as Operations Supervisor OR 2 years distribution.
